Taster Days

Our taster days offer a great introduction to climbing outdoors. No prior climbing experience needed.  We choose venues that are suitable for people with little or no prior climbing experience and they're a fantastic first outdoor climbing day. As with all our courses, our ratios are low (1:6), enabling you to have more climbing for your money.

During the taster day we will try to cover:

- Information regarding the crag in use
- Fitting harnesses and helmets
- Tying in
- Belaying
- Crag safety
- The mountain environment (if applicable)
- Movement skills
- Next step – guidance as what to do on completion of course

We may not get a chance to cover every topic and if you would like information about one of the above subjects just ask your instructor on the day.

Generally the crags we use for this course are:

- Sticklebarn Crag, Langdale (Grid Ref. 294 068)
- Lower Scout Crag, Langdale (Grid Ref: 208 069)
- Hutton Roof Crag, Hutton Roof (Grid Ref: 556 775)
- Long Scar Crag, Wrynose Pass (Grid Ref:272 036)

Cost:  £75 per person

This includes all climbing equipment and instruction cost. It does not include accommodation, transport or personal accident insurance. Run on Sundays and Fridays during Summer.
