What a Busy Month!
Well we have missed a couple of months of the diary, that's not to say we haven't been busy, lots has been going on, lots of planning behind the scenes, which we can now tell you about.
Kendal Wall Shop is Now Online
We have been working on this for some time now but we are pleased to announce that the Kendal Wall Shop is now available online. So our faraway customers can have access to our great range of products or our regular customers can browse the website before shopping.
We will also be having competitions and promotions so please keep an eye on the website and Facebook.
Evolv Demo Day and Free Coaching Session from Matt Birch
On the 11 October we will be having a demo day for Evolv rockshoes as well as being able to test the shoes we will be giving 10% discount on Evolv rockshoes during the week of the demo (except those currently on offer), that means that there will be a further 10% discount to members who buy during that week a fantastic deal. The demo session will start at 5:30pm and finish at 9:30.
On the night we will also be holding a masterclass coaching session from Evolv athlete and top boulderer Matt Birch, this proved very popular and successful last time so please register your interest with reception or on the Facebook event. The coaching session will start at approx 6:30pm.
Kendal Wall Bouldering Ladder Leg 1
So the nights must be drawing in as the Bouldering Ladder is now starting. Tom is organising some wonderfully devilish problems for all abilities and those members amongst us who are a little savvy might sign up for the coaching session and get Matt Birch to demonstrate some of the problems - winner.
How to Climb Harder or how to Climb Smarter
On the 17 October, the first of our winter events will take place. This will be an introductory workshop on a holistic approach of how to get more out of your winter season at Kendal Wall and improve your standard without injury. This will be presented by Alison Bloxham - physiotherapist, Abby Harman - nutritionist and a coach!!!
Alison, who currently runs physio clinics on the first Thursday of every month will talk about injury prevention, how to warm up how to stretch. Abby will talk about the nutritional requirements to get the most out of your session - if you arrive from work without eating are you really going to perform at your best? How soon after your session should you eat and what should you eat? Coach will talk about the quality of your sessions, goal setting achievable targets and working on weaknesses.
Each talk will take about 20 minutes and the plan is to have a breakout session after, where you can talk with the experts independently about your requirements.
On the 20 October we will be hosting the BMC Leading, this will last for one week (please see our website for further details)
On the same date we will be starting the Kendal Wall Leading Ladder, this will take the same format as previous years, with different points for flash and redpoint attempts.
Real Rock School
The last of our Rock Schools will take place on Sunday 28 October if you would like further details on just call and ask for details or check out the website.
Outdoor First Aid Course
On 15 & 16 October we will be hosting the Outdoor First Aid course that meets the requirements of the MLTUK, BCU and RYA and other outdoor governing bodies as suitable for outdoor instructors. On this course the focus is on dealing with incidents far from medical help with the minimal equipment you would carry while participating in or leading outdoor activities. Again the emphasis is on practical skills with Plenty of hand-on practice, including lots of outdoor scenarios.
