Terms and Conditions

Kendal Wall Shop is part of the Lakeland Climbing Centre based in Kendal on the edge of the Lake District.  We are a friendly bunch and will try to make your shopping experience as easy as possible. Part of that shopping experience is the trading terms and conditions of Kendal Wall Shop, a necessary evil that allows you the customer to feel satisfied that we are a bonafide retailer, who will aim to sell you good quality product at a reasonable price.

Purchasing Made Easy

I’m sure that shopping online at the Kendal Wall Shop Online will not be the first time you have bought goods online but if it is, the process is simple. Choose the product you want to purchase, if the item has an option such as colour, size etc then you must select this, then choose the number of items you wish and select “Add To Basket”. As you add items to your basket they will add up, these items can be amended at anytime, by either selecting “Update” if the quantity is incorrect or “Remove item from basket” if you no longer wish to purchase the item.

Once you have finished shopping you select “Checkout” and this will take you to the signing in page.

Registering/Signing in

If you have not purchased from us before will need to register the first time that you order. This is no different from putting in your name and address for delivery, it just means you don’t have to do it every time you visit the site. Your main address or “Invoice Address” must be the address that your payment card is registered to. If it is not then we will not be able to process the order. Your details will never be revealed to another party except for the purpose of processing your order.


We aim to deliver “in stock” orders as soon as possible, usually within 2 working days. If we are out of stock of an item that cannot be supplied within a few days we will e-mail or telephone, giving you the option to cancel your order, wait, or accept an alternative. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee delivery before a specific time as we are left to the vagaries of our carriers.


Postage is free for any orders within the UK that are over £50, any orders under this price are charged at post and packing cost of £4.00.

Receipts and Bills

We will include a receipt for the goods with the dispatch. Any errors in deliveries or charges will be corrected as soon as possible.


Returns All web sales are governed by the Distance Selling Regulations. All goods advertised on the website are supplied on 14 days approval with the exceptions of those mentioned below. If goods do not meet your expectations for any reason you may return them and we will refund their cost in full (but not any postage costs), or exchange them for other items/sizes or colours. All returned goods must be new and unused, and with their original packaging and labels. If you are knowing unsure of your purchase please open packaging as carefully as possible. We cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit when being returned to us, and recommend that you insure items with the carrier and get proof of posting.

Unfortunately we will have to make a post and packing charge to send out any exchanged non-faulty goods. This will cover our costs incurred; you can include include stamps or a cheque adequate to cover postage on the replacement if you know what that is, alternatively we will call and take a debit or credit card details and charge accordingly.

Please note that we are unable to accept returns of any Personal Protective Equipment including climbing equipment and helmets unless faulty. This would be dealt with under warranty and returns.

Errors on Website

If we have mispriced a product we will not be liable to supply that item to you at the stated price, we will inform you and give you the option to cancel the order. While every effort is made to maintain the information on this website as up to date and as accurate as possible, mistakes can and do occasionally happen. If you are find an error on the website we would be grateful if you could contact us to let us know. We endeavour to ensure our information is correct (if at times flippant!), however if information about a product is substantially incorrect we will refund the product if you return it to us and also the cost of returning it to us, but we cannot accept liability for any further costs that may be associated with that misinformation.

Prices and price reductions

All prices shown are in £ sterling and include VAT. Our online shopping catalogue includes items where a saving is shown. The saving shown is the difference between our current price and the manufacturer’s suggested selling price (SSP), although sometimes we may not have sold the goods at the higher price for 28 days within the last six months. In these cases we include the term “Special Purchase” in the description. While we do our best to make sure prices and details shown on the site are correct, we are only human (some might say only just human) and we do make mistakes. We therefore reserve the right to alter prices and or specifications when we get them wrong.

Privacy Policy

We will not share the information you provide with any third party except as required by law and in connection with the processing of your order. Your email address will not be passed onto any other business or person and we will only use your email address with regard to your order unless you wish to register for the Kendal Wall Newsletter

Faulty Goods & Refunds

In the event of goods being delivered in a faulty condition or incorrectly delivered please return them to us for replacement or a full refund. If goods develop faults within a reasonable period please return them to us with a covering letter giving as much detail of the fault(s) as possible. We or the manufacture will have to see the goods to determine the fault and the correct course of action, this process may take up to 2 weeks. Used goods may be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the manufacturer. Any refunds made will be by the same method as the original payment. If requested we will refund the cost of returning faulty or incorrectly delivered goods providing we are contacted and notified prior to the goods being returned at a cost reasonable to the worth of the item.


All types of climbing, bouldering, and mountaineering have a degree of risk. Should you be unsure of these risks please get expert advice.

Any description within our online shop cannot be considered as advice for your particular needs and requirements.

The manufacturers go to considerable lengths to provide instructions on use and care, please read these carefully.

All the climbing equipment complies to the relevant standards for which it has been designed, no responsibility can be taken for misuse.

Changes in Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions without notice either to meet the requirements of the law or at our discretion.
